TERMS OF USE
This page sets out the terms of agreement between Matrix-Data Limited ("we",
"us") and each visitor to this site ("you") regarding your usage of our site,
"My Local Adviser". By using or accessing the site you agree to be legally
bound by these terms - if you do not agree to these terms, you must not use
this site. We reserve the right to change these terms and any information on
the site at any time without notice - changes will take effect immediately upon
posting and you will confirm your agreement to be bound by the revised terms by
continuing to use the site.
My Local Adviser has been developed by Matrix-Data to offer consumers free
access to contact details for a range of investment advisers in any given area
of the UK. You agree that you will use our site solely for your own reference
as a personal investor and will not seek to exploit the site or its content for
any commercial purpose.
Under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, the giving of advice in
relation to certain investments is an activity regulated by the independent
watchdog for the financial services industry, the Financial Services Authority
("FSA"). Only persons with authorisation from the FSA or those benefiting from
an exemption can do so. The majority of advisers on this website are authorised
firms. Some advisers are 'appointed representatives' of authorised firms, which
means that they are not directly authorised themselves but they have been
appointed by an authorised firm to act on its behalf, and so benefit from an
exemption.
Although periodic checks are made to verify that an authorised firm continues
to be registered with the FSA, Matrix-Data recommends that individuals make
their own checks before engaging an adviser. If you are unsure as to the
current regulatory status of any firm or individual, please contact the FSA
Central Register directly on 0845 606 1234 or via the web at
www.fsa.gov.uk/register.
Not all investments are regulated by the FSA, especially those originating
outside the UK, so before making any investment decision we would encourage you
to check with an adviser:
-
whether the potential investment is subject to regulation by the FSA; and
-
whether your investment would be covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service and
the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. (Further details about these
schemes can be obtained from
www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk and
www.fscs.org.uk.)
Our lists cover a wide range of advisers, including
independent financial advisers, insurance intermediaries, mortgage
intermediaries, and other persons who advise on investments. Some of the
advisers are tied
agents or
multi-tied agents, and some advisers may offer independent advice in
relation to some products but advice limited to a certain range of providers in
relation to other products - when dealing with an adviser, you should check the
basis upon which any advice is given to you.
Matrix-Data Limited is a website publisher and not a financial adviser.
Nothing in the content of this website is intended to constitute financial,

accept no liability for any advice which an adviser may give to you.
