firm to the smallest local adviser. Now representing 70% of the IFA market AIFA
are increasingly recognised by regulators, the authorities and the media as the
focal point for finding out the views of IFAs and are being referred to more often
when decisions affecting IFAs are made.

rule-making, investigatory and enforcement powers to fulfill statutory objectives.

HMRC - HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) was formed on the 18th of April 2005,
following the merger of Inland Revenue and HM Customs and Excise Departments. HMRC
ensure the correct tax is paid at the right time, whether this relates to payment
of taxes received by the department of entittlement to benefits paid.

Financial Ombudsman Service - The Financial Ombudsman Service was set up
by law as an independent public body. Their job is to help settle individual disputes
between consumers and businesses providing financial services - fairly, reasonably,
quickly and informally.

Investment Management Association - The trade association for the Ј3 trillion
investment management industry in the UK. With 185 members, accounting for over
90% of the industry in the UK.
